Mandurah Foreshore Focus 2020

In 2005, we won the tender with Taylor Burrell Barnett Planners to carry out this project for the City of Mandurah. Philip Gresley spearheaded our team. Liaising with the entire consultant team and many highly engaged stakeholders, Phil participated in determining a holistic, visionary and contemporary planning outcome for the Mandurah. The City of Mandurah subsequently adopted the plan.

The plan laid down the future expansion of public waterfront activities around the entire Mandurah Estuary. It included a network of public places linked by high-quality bicycle, walking and boating connections, significant hotel developments, new marina proposals and general upgrades to the existing critical historical and waterfront activity zones.

The planning team effectively communicated the developed concepts to obtain community support, leading to the ultimate adoption of the plan. The plan included a proposed iconic pedestrian bridge across the mouth of the estuary and converted the old Mandurah Traffic bridge into a “living bridge”, housing several commercial functions.
