Sustainability Action Plan

Sustainability Action Plan

Gresley Abas is committed to leading a sustainable future for all

Meeting the needs of our society within the earth’s ecological boundaries will demand a paradigm shift in practice. We want to reduce and eventually reverse the environmental damage we are causing. To do this, we need to re-imagine our buildings, and cities, as inseparable components of the natural environment. We aspire to create a built environment for people that is a regenerative and self-sustaining system. Delivering a Nature-positive, carbon-negative future is a critical strategic stream in our practice and our commitment to creating a better world. To deliver on this we have embedded in our Sustainability Action Plan (SAP) the commitment to becoming a Regenerative design practice by 2030.

We believe in the importance of our projects and practice delivering the best outcomes for the planet and its people. All our projects seek to meet the aspirations of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, understanding the importance of achieving net zero carbon building outcomes. We strive to deliver buildings that enhance the well-being of all people and communities.

We strongly advocate for the importance of sustainable built-form outcomes and see this as a core aspect of design excellence. We achieve this through our involvement in design education, advisory panels and professional bodies. Through our leadership in community consultation and engagement, we seek to help people more generally understand the benefits of sustainable design in the creation of better, built environments for everyone.

We are active members of the Green Building Council of Australia with Director Jonathan Lake a registered Greenstar professional and active member of the Expert Reference Panel for Sustainable Buildings.
