Woodlupine Community Hub

The Woodlupine Community Hub Master Plan and Concept Design form an essential part of the City of Kalamunda’s ‘Forrestfeld Advancing: Community Enhancement Project’. ‘Forrestfeld Advancing’ is an exciting and unique project focusing on the district’s rejuvenation. The Woodlupine Community Hub will represent a tipping point in the story of Forrestfeld by bringing together a suite of community improvements in the locality to counter a range of socio-economic issues affecting Forrestfeld in this declining inner suburban and strategically located activity centre.

Offering improved access to community and health services, the Woodlupine Community Hub will also form the new home of the local library and lead to the creation of external community gathering spaces, recreation spaces, landscaped and garden areas, parking, public art and way finding improvements.

The site identified for this new Hub is also being explored separately for commercial, retail and food and beverage uses, providing exciting opportunities to integrate these developments to create a place that could become a vibrant civic heart, orientated around a central plaza within a woodland setting.

The principles of this concept design and master plan draw from the potential to design the Hub project as a place within a broader precinct. By identifying crucial linkages and prioritising their qualities, the design generated site and floor plans for the Hub and several 3-dimensional sketches capture the essence of ‘place’, environment, community and built-form proposed for the project.
